Bella & Lace goes to Stanthorpe 2020

Bella & Lace goes to Stanthorpe 2020

Adventure; an unusual and exciting or daring experience.
Our team and families including pets got together for a road trip - wanting to escape the hustle and bustle we headed south to the heart of Queensland's Granite Belt, Stanthorpe. An area stricken by drought and recent bush fires.
We were met by crispy cold air and chilly winds. - but the friendly locals warmed us up with hot apple pie and other local treats. And while rugged up we were able to enjoy some fresh air in the gorgeous town and surroundings. On one of the coldest days we went for a long walk and the kids got to enjoy the frosty weather and the traces of ice it had put along our way. Although it wasn't cold enough for snow it was enough to excite them all and collect beautiful frozen leafs and sticks. We spent the late afternoons and evenings around the fire - playing games, chatting, drinking tea and preparing dinner. The kids enjoyed each others company while spent some quality time outdoors; running, climbing, exploring and laughing. They would have big smiles on their faces and rosy cheeks, while they warmed up around the fire with hot chocolates in their cold little hands.
We all felt so happy and satisfied when we packed up to go home, after days of relaxing and enjoying the slow and simple life. All agreeing that we would come back and even making it a tradition to make it a yearly trip!
See some of the gorgeous places we visited and things we got up to including where we stayed. - follow the link to the websites when clicking on the headlines to each place.

Top of The Town Tourist Park

Top of the Town has a national park atmosphere and fantastic amenities to make your stay both adventurous and comfortable. The park is set in twenty acres of bush just fifteen minutes’ walk or two minutes’ drive from downtown Stanthorpe.

Brinx Deli & Cafe

Our favorite cafe with the best coffee and delicious macaroons! The kids enjoyed a hot chocolate to warm up.

Mount Marlay Lookout

For a panoramic view over Stanthorpe, Mt Marlay lookout and picnic area is the spot to drive to.  Located within Stanthorpe itself, the lookout is and only a short yet fairly steep and windy drive a short distance from the shopping district.

Sutton's Juice Factory, Cider and Cafe Shed

The place of THE best warm apple pie EVER!

Located in the coolest area of Queensland only two and half hours from Brisbane is an old packing shed. Just beside the New England highway and diagonally opposite The Big Apple is a bright pink sign saying Sutton’s Juice Factory & Cidery & Café, open seven days. Drive in to the old packing shed which, from the outside, gives no clue as to what may be found on the other side of the door.
